Lauren Pabst

Program Officer

Lauren Pabst is a Program Officer in Media, Culture, and Special Initiatives at the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Her responsibilities include working with the independent media, journalism, and special initiatives grant portfolios.

Prior to joining the MacArthur Foundation, Lauren worked on several documentary film and new media projects that explore contemporary social issues. Most recently Lauren was an Associate Producer with the Rada Film Group, conducting community engagement research and development writing for a 12-year documentary about race, parenting, and education. Previously, she assisted in coordinating the first New Media Summit convened by the National Black Programming Consortium, designed to familiarize public media producers of color with emerging storytelling technologies. Lauren began her career working at Public Policy Productions on a documentary about the crisis of the uninsured that was broadcast nationally on American Documentary’s POV.

Lauren is a member of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in English from Boston University.
