NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — The Institute for Public Health and Justice - established as a part of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - was created with Foundation support as a permanent, non-governmental entity seeking to secure and sustain the progress in juvenile justice system reform achieved by Louisiana Models for Change. Since 2006, the Institute's director has been the project director for that effort, responsible for the continued implementation of the strategic work plan that guides reform efforts. The Institute will use this grant to continue its work as the state's lead entity and to establish a stable, secure foundation for continued reform.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Public Health $775,000 between 2010 and 2013.
