BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — "Solarize This" is a documentary that looks beyond the debates around climate change to explore how a green economy may actually be built in the U.S. It documents the experiences of three working-class trainees in a solar power jobs training program in Richmond, California. In addition to telling the stories of these individuals, the film examines clean energy policy in the U.S. and compares it with China, where solar manufacturing is booming. "Solarize This" is directed by Shalini Kantayya and produced by 7th Empire Media.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded 7th Empire Media $125,000 between 2010 and 2013.
