LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Long Story Short is a participatory documentary consisting of a 30-minute film, an interactive web documentary, and a social media platform that presents personal stories told by hundreds of people living in poverty in the San Francisco Bay Area. The story will be told collectively by many people of different ages, ethnicities, and perspectives, whose voices are among the most excluded and misrepresented by media. Long Story Short is produced and directed by Natalie Bookchin for Mass Produced Media, LLC. This grant will support production.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Mass Produced Media $100,000 between 2010 and 2013.
