SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA — Independent Television Service (ITVS) is the largest independent funder and presenter of social issue documentary films on U.S. public television. In addition to presenting documentaries via PBS broadcast and online streaming, ITVS works to maximize the impact of these films by partnering with policymakers, civic leaders, schools, and non-profits. This grant supports Independent Lens, including funding for documentary projects in the research and development phase, and outreach strategies designed to reach and engage audiences in conversations about the important social issues presented in the documentaries.
