WASHINGTON, D.C. — Founded in 1993, the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) is a non-profit, non-partisan institution dedicated to informing the public about science and policy issues affecting international security. This grant will provide general operating support for ISIS to continue its work in the following key areas: developing new options for the hardest proliferation cases, such as Iran, North Korea, and South Asia; detecting and thwarting illicit nuclear trade; monitoring proliferation in South Asia; and shaping the reporting of proliferation-related news.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Institute for Science and International Security $300,000 between 2010 and 2013.
