  NEW YORK, NEW YORK — The International Rescue Committee, as a member of the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crises (IAWG), will carry out a global review of reproductive health among displaced populations. Through a combination of desk review and field missions, the IAWG will assess reproductive health progress since the last global review was completed in 2004 and identify gaps and constraints to help policymakers, program planners, and advocates.

  NEW YORK, NEW YORK — Women's Refugee Commission (WRC) of the International Rescue Committee is a research and advocacy organization that works to improve the lives and well being of displaced and conflict-affected women, children and youth around the world. The goal of this grant is to ensure that crisis-affected populations in the Great Lakes region of Africa have safe access to appropriate, sustainable, cooking fuel and fuel efficient cooking technologies. Project staff will assess current needs and challenges related to access to sustainable cooking fuel in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) sites and refugee camps in seven countries within the Great Lakes region, with a focus on implications for the environment and the safety of women and children. WRC will then implement a strategy for safe access to sustainable cooking fuel in two IDP sites in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and a refugee site in southwest Uganda.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded International Rescue Committee Women's Refugee Commission $960,000 between 2010 and 2013.
