EVANSTON, ILLINOIS — The Juvenile Justice Initiative is a nationally-recognized advocacy organization launched in 2000 by the Foundation and the Woods Fund of Chicago to provide non-partisan policy leadership on juvenile justice in Illinois. The Initiative has played a major role in Illinois Models for Change through its work in reducing reliance on incarceration, addressing racial and ethnic disparities, and increasing funding for community-based services for justice-involved youth. It will use this grant to sustain the progress made under Models for Change and strengthen its operations to ensure its continued role in juvenile justice reform in the future.
