CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Museum of Science and Industry is the first and largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere. Each year it hosts approximately 1.5 million visitors. The Museum increases science literacy and inspires future scientists through interactive exhibits that address current scientific issues as well as through its Center for the Advancement of Science Education, which promotes careers in the fields of science, technology, medicine and engineering. The Museum houses 63 exhibits and 35,000 artifacts.
The MacArthur Foundation awarded Museum of Science and Industry $500,000 between 2010 and 2013.
