WASHINGTON, D.C. — NeighborWorks America provides grants and training to more than 200 non-profit organizations dedicated to community development and affordable housing. NeighborWorks America, in conjunction with two other associations of leading non-profit housing organizations, established the Strength Matters initiative to build the productivity, efficiency, and economic resilience of their member organizations by enabling them to "benchmark" their performance to comparable peers, clarify and standardize their financial reporting, and enhance their ability to raise private, public, and philanthropic capital on attractive terms. NeighborWorks will use this grant to develop and launch a detailed, multi-year business plan to enable Strength Matters to become a financially-independent and largely self-funded enterprise.
