  CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 1967 to showcase thought-provoking contemporary art. It collects and exhibits artwork created after 1945 in a variety of mediums: paintings, sculpture, photography, performance, and video and film, emphasizing the work and ideas of living artists. Each year, the Museum presents over 25 exhibitions of contemporary art, 23 innovative performances, and a variety of education programs. Its annual audience includes more than 230,000 individuals and 11,000 students in 1st through 12th grades.

  CHICAGO, ILLINOIS — The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) is committed to providing the public with an opportunity to experience the work and ideas of living artists. It pursues its mission through exhibitions, performances, collections and educational programs. This grant will support a theatrical adaptation of Pedro Paramo, a short story by Mexican writer Juan Rolfo, in collaboration with Cuban theatre company Teatro Buendia, the Goodman Theatre, and Northwestern University's Theatre and Interpretation Center. Foundation support will support a five-week residency of Cuban artists in Chicago and a three-week residency of American artists in Havana to create this new work.

The MacArthur Foundation awarded Museum of Contemporary Art $425,000 between 2010 and 2013.
